In recent developments, the Indian government has responded to the ongoing opposition against the Agniveer scheme led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and others. Significant changes have been announced, including a 10% reservation for former Agniveers in the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Border Security Force (BSF). Additionally, these recruits will be exempt from physical tests.

CISF Director General Neena Singh confirmed that this reservation will extend to all future constable recruitments. The first batch of Agniveers will receive a five-year age relaxation, while subsequent batches will receive three years.

BSF DG Nitin Agarwal emphasized that the Agniveer program provides soldiers with four years of disciplined experience, making them highly suitable for security roles. This initiative, part of the broader Agnipath scheme initiated in 2022, continues to generate significant India news in Hindi as it reshapes military recruitment policies.
