New Jersey Domestic Violence Law
« : 30 Июль 2024, 16:31:32 »
New Jersey's Prevention of Domestic Violence Act provides legal protection for victims of domestic abuse. It covers not only spouses/former spouses, but also present/former household members, dating partners, and people who have a child in common. New Jersey Domestic Violence Law is defined broadly, including physical violence as well as harassment, emotional abuse, threats, and certain criminal offenses. Victims can obtain temporary and permanent restraining orders that restrict the abuser's behavior and forbid contact or proximity. Violations are criminal offenses. The law also provides financial compensation, custody protections, and other civil remedies for victims. Its aim is to prevent recurring violence in domestic situations.
