Cryogenic valve manufacturer in Germany

Valvesonly Europe is the best Cryogenic valve manufacturer in Germany. We provide swift and fast delivery globally.
What is a cryogenic valve?
A cryogenic valve is a type of valve that is designed to control the fluids in extreme low temperatures  typically below -150°C (-238°F). They are used in applications  such as aerospace, medical, and liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing, where handling cryogenic liquids like liquid nitrogen and liquid oxygen is critical. These valves are constructed using materials such as alloy or stainless steel which provide strength and ability to withstand a cryogenic environment. The valve design consists of a stem which reduces heat transfer, and helps prevent the internal components from becoming overly fragile or malfunctioning, provide excellent sealing capacity under extreme low temperature and prevent from the leakage of cryogenic fluids in the operation, provide safety and enhance system efficiency.

How do cryogenic valves work?
Cryogenic valves are used for on/off operation to provide quick shut off and isolate the flow. They are designed to provide tight shut off in extreme low temperatures normally below  -150°C (-238°F), effectively preventing leakage of fluids such as liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen, or liquefied natural gas. They are operated by handwheel or by an actuator, when the actuator is turned to operate the valve it moves the plug open and close the valve, allowing for fluids to flow or stop.

Types:
●   Cryogenic Check Valve
●   Cryogenic Gate Valve
●   Cryogenic Long Stem Globe Valve
●   Cryogenic Ball Valve

Why do cryogenic valves have long stems?
The long stem design of the cryogenic valve helps in isolating the valve actuator and external components from the extremely low temperatures within the valve body preventing them from freezing. When a valve is exposed to cryogenic temperatures, the metallic components, such as the stem, contract because of thermal shrinkage; this expansion may lead to the stem seal losing its efficacy when exposed to the extreme cold. By increasing the stem length, the seal is moved away from the coldest area of the valve, usually located near the valve body. This maintains  the stem seal at a higher temperature, preventing it from becoming brittle or losing its sealing capabilities.. The long stem serves as the safeguard to maintain the sealing mechanism and dependability in very cold conditions.
