CORS (Cross-Origin Resource Sharing) is a mechanism that allows restricted resources on a web page to be requested from another domain outside the domain from which the first resource was served. CORS defines a way by which a browser and server can interact to determine whether or not to allow the cross-origin request. It handles requests for permission by checking what headers were sent by the requesting browser, allowing access only when certain headers are present.
