3. Bleach
Another efficient way to get rid of the garbage disposal smell is with the help of bleach. Bleach is a strong thing for this matter so make sure that you use it with a liquid and not directly. The best part about using bleach is that it will remove the food or the greasy things that are inside and are the major reason for producing the disposal smell. So, it not only removes the smell but also helps you to get rid of the unwanted and irritating blockage in the pipes. The solution of bleach and water is one of the best ways to get rid of the smell in my opinion.
4. Mouthwash
If you have mouthwash at home then your problem is already fixed. Mouthwash is basically an antiseptic that is used to sterilize the tools in hospitals. Plus, it is really useful and will help in getting rid of the garbage disposal smell. Add some quality of the mouthwash in a cup and then pour it slowly into the drain and you will immediately see the results. This trick is tried and tested so many times and I have found it to be one of the most effective remedies. So, if you already have it in your home then utilize it for this purpose.
5. Ice
Ice is another way of treating this issue. However, I have personally not tried it but I have been hearing that it is a good solution. Ice cubes also play a role in sharpening the blades as well as cleaning them. Three to four cubes are more than enough but you will have to wait for approximately an hour to see whether the smell is gone or not. It is an easy way to solve the problem because it does not require any effort. Also, ice cubes are mostly easily available so you do not need to go out and get something extra for fixing this issue.
