This issue can also be caused by the disruptions in the power supply due to which the device would fail to reach its normal operating state. The spectrum router blinking red can be resolved by following the troubleshooting steps. Make sure none of the cords are damaged and none of the connections are loose. Also try and hit the reset button located at the back of the modem and press it down for 20 seconds.
